Why the Ramones all took the same surname

None of the members of the legendary punk band the Ramones were actually related, nor were any of them legally named Ramone. They adopted the collective fake surname just to sound like a cohesive, gang-like family unit. It was a brilliant piece of early branding that successfully convinced casual fans they were witnessing a very aggressive family reunion.
