Psychic Sylvia Browne arrogantly told the mother of missing teen Amanda Berry that her daughter was dead and submerged in water. The mother died of a broken heart a year later. Amanda was actually alive, held captive just miles away, and was rescued ten years later, permanently cementing Browne as a shameless, empathy-free charlatan.
