The theory is that managers who choose flashy names like Apex Predator Capital are significantly more likely to take reckless, ego-driven risks with client money, ultimately losing it all in spectacular fashion. It is hilarious that the alpha-male posturing that dominates Wall Street culture is statistically proven to make you worse at your job, yet these guys still walk around like they are masters of the universe. If you want to protect your retirement, you should probably trust the firm named something dull like Oak Tree Management over the guy who named his fund after a Spartan warrior
