A closer look

Incredibly isolated Pitcairn Islands were officially settled in 1790 by a rugged and desperate group of British mutineers from the heavily armed HMS Bounty and a handful of kidnapped Tahitians who desperately needed to permanently hide from the angry Royal Navy. Within a few incredibly short years, the supposed peaceful tropical paradise violently devolved into an absolute living nightmare of bloody murder, rampant alcoholism, and violent lethal betrayal, ultimately leaving only one single adult male alive to aggressively govern a deeply traumatized society of women and children. It really completely destroys the beautiful romantic fantasy of casually abandoning modern society to happily live on a gorgeous deserted island, definitively proving that terrible humans will inevitably bring their highly toxic drama and deeply self-destructive tendencies no matter how many thousands of miles they actively travel across the Pacific
