Muons outrun their own expiration dates

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

These heavy, unstable cousins of the electron have a shockingly brief lifespan, usually decaying in microseconds. Yet, they manage to streak through the atmosphere and reach the ground before expiring. Why? Because they move so close to light speed that time dilation stretches their pathetic lifespans out long enough to survive the trip. They literally outrun their own expiration dates.
