A closer look
Charlie Cox completely blew his incredibly important audition to play the young, dashing smuggler Han Solo in the wildly expensive Star Wars prequel movie because he had spent the last several years heavily playing the blind superhero Daredevil on television. He had heavily trained himself to absolutely never make eye contact with his fellow actors during scenes, causing the incredibly confused casting directors to assume he was just acting completely weird and deeply disconnected during the high-stakes sci-fi reading. The poor guy essentially acted himself entirely out of a massive, career-defining Disney paycheck because he was way too incredibly good at pretending to be visually impaired in a completely unrelated dark and gritty street-level vigilante television show
