Director Peter Jackson would literally look out the window of his chopper and see a tiny, exhausted Boromir scaling a cliffside just to avoid taking a totally safe aerial commute. It is the ultimate irony that a man playing one of the most hardened, battle-ready warriors in fantasy cinematic history was brought to his absolute knees by the mild inconvenience of modern aviation, choosing instead to suffer an agonizing daily wilderness trek like an absolute medieval peasant!
