Swimming offers a vivid metaphor for the qualities astrology traditionally assigns to Pisces. In water, movement can feel less direct and more adaptable than walking: a swimmer follows currents, changes direction, and is supported by the surrounding environment. That makes “at home in water” an easy shorthand for a personality imagined as sensitive, flexible, or drawn to inner life.
The joke works by taking a symbolic association literally. It turns an abstract astrological identity into a recognizable scene: while everyone else walks, the Pisces person would rather be in the pool.
