Before you credit Apple for all of your aesthetic tech obsessions, remember that Steve Jobs was also secretly bankrolling your childhood. Jobs bought the computer graphics division from Lucasfilm that eventually became Pixar. He poured millions of his own dollars into the struggling company to keep it afloat long enough for them to render a cowboy and a spaceman, effectively making him the silent godfather of 3D animated cinema.
