A closer look

Blue laser grid covering the alien egg chamber in Ridley Scott's 1979 sci-fi horror masterpiece Alien was heavily borrowed from English rock band The Who, who were coincidentally testing out their expensive new stage lighting in the soundstage right next door. The terrifying, otherworldly atmosphere of an ancient extraterrestrial breeding ground was entirely dependent on a legendary classic rock band trying to make their upcoming stadium tour look a little more visually dynamic.
