Batman’s cape took two years to animate

When your superhero's entire aesthetic relies on looking incredibly dramatic in the wind, developers have to suffer. A single programmer at Rocksteady Studios spent over two entire years doing nothing but writing the 700 unique animations and collision physics required just to make Batman’s cape flutter, glide, and wrap around his body correctly in Arkham Asylum. It was worth every single tear.
