Making things too convenient can utterly destroy the underlying purpose of a system. When Diablo III launched, it featured an auction house where players could instantly buy the best gear. Instead of playing the actual game to find loot, users simply flipped items on the menu screens. The developers eventually had to violently shut the entire system down because frictionless trading turned an epic fantasy adventure into a depressing spreadsheet simulator.
