The soundtrack to thousands of paranoid alien abduction theories was birthed from terrible posture. Composer Mark Snow was frustrated and out of ideas for the sci-fi theme. While leaning dejectedly on his synth setup, his elbow triggered a built-in delay effect, causing a synth whistle to loop into a haunting, echoing melody. Thus, the sound of government conspiracies was born from sheer laziness.
