Consulates will not loan you money if you go broke abroad
Stop assuming your embassy acts as a taxpayer-funded safety net when things go sideways. If you lose your wallet or get scammed internationally, diplomatic missions will politely offer you a phone to call your relatives or point you toward a wire transfer service. They absolutely will not hand out emergency cash or buy you a flight home, no matter how desperately you cry.
