When you're an auteur director, you don't make typos; you make stylistic choices. Quentin Tarantino intentionally botched the spelling of his WW2 epic 'Inglourious Basterds', adding a 'u' and swapping an 'e'. When journalists pressed him on why he did it, Tarantino refused to fully explain, simply stating, 'Here's the thing. I'm never going to explain that.' It’s the ultimate middle finger to copy editors everywhere.
