Even in the afterlife, academics apparently can't resist a complex puzzle. In the early 20th century, several unconnected mediums across the globe started receiving totally nonsensical fragments of Greek and Latin poetry. Psychical researchers eventually realized that the 'spirits' of recently deceased scholars were deliberately sending shattered pieces of a single message to different women. It was an elaborate anti-fraud mechanism designed by dead nerds to prove telepathy was real and to completely baffle the living.
