When you invent the underlying architecture of modern existence, you are allowed a few naming hiccups. Berners-Lee originally named his browsing software the exact same thing as the information space it accessed. Realizing this would confuse literally everyone who wasn't a CERN physicist, he begrudgingly renamed the app Nexus, proving branding is hard even for geniuses.
