A closer look

Some lines on a chart exist purely to remind you how wildly unfair the universe is. The Lorenz curve is a graphical representation of resource distribution across a population. If everything were perfectly equal, the graph would be a rigid 45-degree straight line. In reality, the curve bows violently outward, visualizing the depressing mathematical truth that a tiny fraction of participants inevitably secure the absolute vast majority of the collective wealth.
