Why Pollux gets a combative reputation
In astrology, Pollux is a star in the constellation Gemini, the celestial twin paired with Castor. Its association with argument and struggle comes from that symbolic setting, not from a physical effect the star has been shown to exert on people. Astrology reads celestial bodies as signs within a system of interpretation; it does not establish their meanings through astronomy’s methods.
The myth behind the symbolism
The twins’ story gives astrologers a ready-made contrast to explore. In Greek myth, Castor is mortal while Pollux is divine, and the brothers face separation and danger before being joined in the heavens. Later astrological interpretations can draw on Pollux’s place in that pair to represent a forceful, confrontational side of Gemini—someone inclined to challenge ideas rather than let disagreement pass.
That symbolism is not a fixed personality diagnosis. Different astrological traditions and interpreters may give a star different weight, and a birth chart’s reading depends on how the star is positioned and interpreted alongside other factors. The “struggling spirit” is therefore best understood as an astrological theme: a tendency to meet friction head-on, which may become either stubborn conflict or vigorous debate.
