Unsurprisingly, actively firing a loaded weapon directly at a human face is incredibly risky. The bullet catch illusion has historically resulted in entirely real fatalities when trick guns malfunctioned or blanks were improperly loaded. Despite the horrific track record, overly confident illusionists still stubbornly perform it just to prove they can survive.
