The meteorite-made crystal harder than diamond
We spent centuries crowning diamonds as the hardest material known, only to be entirely upstaged by lonsdaleite. This rare hexagonal carbon structure forms when meteorites forcefully slam into the earth. It is theoretically much harder than a standard diamond, entirely ruining the marketing campaigns of luxury jewelers everywhere. Nothing screams romance like a violently impacted space rock.
