Tellurium uniquely bonds with gold to form unusual compounds

Tellurium is a strange, toxic metalloid that aggressively binds with pristine gold veins underground, creating totally bizarre compound structures known as calaverite. It is one of the only chemical scenarios where pure gold actively compromises its legendary noble independence.
