Apparently, a whole lot of 19th-century dietitians were overly concerned with your private time. The Presbyterian minister Sylvester Graham believed physical lust made you blind and crazy. His solution? A brutally dry, unsweetened wheat flour biscuit. The fact that we now use Graham crackers to make gooey, chocolatey S'mores is the ultimate historical irony.
