In a 2002 April Fools' prank, Google exploited our collective tech illiteracy by publishing an extensively detailed paper outlining 'PigeonRank'. They solemnly claimed that their incredibly fast search results were the product of thousands of pecking pigeons locked in data clusters analyzing webpages for seeds.
