In 1592, the Queen's godson created a revolutionary device that featured a water tank and a wash-down valve, effectively creating the first flush toilet. He proudly installed one for Queen Elizabeth I. Sadly, his brilliant invention was entirely mocked by the snobby aristocrats of the era, who highly preferred doing their business in fancy ceramic pots and having their servants awkwardly carry it away.
