On June 6, 2006, a minor programming glitch in the popular game RuneScape turned into a legendary day of virtual terror. A player accidentally discovered that a specific combination of house-building mechanics granted them the ability to bypass the game's strict anti-combat rules in peaceful cities. They marched into the highly populated town of Falador and began systematically slaughtering thousands of helpless players, stealing their hard-earned items before developers finally intervened.
