Nintendo developers shaped the Arwing space fighters in the original Star Fox as simple flat triangles purely because the limited hardware chip could not render any actual curves, meaning what looks like a sleek aerodynamic futuristic combat design was actually just a desperate compromise by programmers trying to squeeze primitive geometry out of a console that was fundamentally built for flat pixels, and millions of fans praised the incredible ship aesthetics without realizing they were basically just staring at the lowest possible polygon count an object can legally have before it simply ceases to exist in three-dimensional space
