Madden NFL 92 featured a wildly chaotic ambulance that would barrel onto the field to pick up injured players, callously running over anyone else who happened to be standing in its path and tossing their bodies into the air. Electronic Arts programmed this supposed medical vehicle as a completely unstoppable force with zero pathfinding logic, inadvertently creating the most hilarious and brutal mini-game in sports history as players actively tried to get their digital athletes flattened. The developers eventually had to remove the feature in subsequent years because the NFL was aggressively trying to clean up its image and probably realized that highlighting the immense physical trauma of football with a murderous paramedical tank was bad for business. It remains a fascinating artifact of a time before sports games became obsessively focused on hyper-realistic physics and microtransactions, when you could just throw a lethal ambulance into a football simulation for a cheap laugh and call it a day
