A closer look

Imagine trying to save the world while aggressively staring at a piece of green tape. When Robert Downey Jr. filmed his iconic in-helmet HUD sequences for Iron Man, he wasn't looking at the brilliant glowing graphics designed by Jayse Hansen. He was locked inside a rigid camera rig, forced to perform complex emotional beats while making incredibly precise micro-movements with his eyes to match UI elements that wouldn't be animated until months later. The diegetic interface essentially forced one of Hollywood's highest-paid actors to become a master of intensely staring at absolute nothingness.
