Before they were raking in billions from colorful battle royales, they sounded like a local IT repair shop. Tim Sweeney founded the company out of his parents' house in Maryland. He eventually realized that 'Potomac Computer Systems' did not sound particularly thrilling for releasing interactive entertainment, so he changed it to Epic MegaGames to make it sound like they had more than one employee.
