Extruded snowboard bases retain less wax than sintered ones

A classic example of getting exactly what you pay for in the world of sliding planks. Extruded bases are created by simply melting plastic and spreading it flat, creating a durable but non-porous surface that absolutely refuses to absorb wax. They are cheap and incredibly easy to repair, but they will never hit the blazing, terrifying speeds of their porous sintered counterparts.
