Sometimes the only way to move a package inside is to literally wrap your entire self around it. Endocytosis involves a cell membrane folding inward to engulf large molecules, trapping them in a neat little biological bubble before pulling them inside. It is essentially the microscopic equivalent of throwing a net over an intruder and dragging them into your basement for processing.
