John Krasinski secretly wore a wig for the entire second half of season three of The Office because he needed to cut his real hair for a movie role, and the notoriously strict showrunner Greg Daniels refused to let him do it. Krasinski hired a professional wig maker, shot a few scenes wearing the fake hair, and then drove to Daniels' office to pitch the idea of wearing a wig, revealing at the end of the conversation that he was already wearing it. It is an incredibly Jim Halpert move to maliciously comply with your boss's unreasonable demands by pulling an elaborate prank that costs thousands of dollars just to prove a point about your haircut.
