You might feel silly paying twenty bucks a year for your forgotten blog domain, but at least you aren't a blockchain company burning thirty million dollars on a URL. In 2019, Block.one bought Voice.com for an utterly offensive sum to launch a decentralized social media platform. Shockingly, throwing an entire GDP's worth of cash at a domain name didn't stop the project from spectacularly fizzling out.
