Blockchain ledgers duplicate identical records across nodes

Instead of keeping a single master list of transactions on one server, blockchain copies the exact same database across thousands of different computers simultaneously. If someone tries to maliciously alter a record, the rest of the network immediately notices the discrepancy and violently rejects it. It is weaponized peer pressure applied to accounting.
