HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

During massive historical metal shortages, nobody had the coins needed to ride a bus or buy a newspaper. Desperate citizens simply began passing around slightly sticky postage stamps in small metal capsules. The government eventually gave up fighting it and just printed thicker, non-sticky stamps, cementing a deeply absurd era where mail literally became the only valid way to buy bread.
