Why walking on glass may not be as dangerous as it looks

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

Walking on broken glass looks like an act of extreme pain tolerance, but it's largely an exercise in careful recycling. Performers use massive quantities of thick glass that has been tumbled to remove the razor-sharp edges, packing it tightly so the foot rests safely on a flat surface. It's essentially just an extreme foot massage disguised as torture.
