Sioux City, Iowa, was assigned the unfortunate airport code SUX back in 1946, and after petitioning the FAA twice to change it and failing, the city finally gave up and trademarked the slogan "Fly SUX" in 2007. Instead of fighting the fact that their local aviation hub sounds like an insult a teenager throws at a broken PlayStation, the tourism board started selling merchandise proudly declaring how much their town sucks. This brilliant exercise in corporate submission proves that when bureaucratic acronyms hand you lemons, your best bet is to monetize the sheer embarrassment and charge stranded passengers twenty-five dollars for a novelty coffee mug!
