The Moon had a 10-mph speed limit

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

You travel 238,000 miles through the terrifying void of space just to be given a strict speed limit. The Apollo Lunar Roving Vehicle was an incredibly fragile wire-mesh go-kart. Because of the low gravity, hitting a moon rock at anything faster than 10 mph would literally launch the astronauts into a dangerous spin. Space exploration is just extreme off-roading with a nagging supervisor.
