Jack Nicholson destroyed the fake door in The Shining

Stanley Kubrick was famous for his obsessive perfectionism, but even he underestimated a former volunteer fire marshal. Kubrick originally built a fake, breakaway door for the iconic "Here's Johnny" axe scene. However, Jack Nicholson chopped through the flimsy prop far too quickly. They had to replace it with a heavy, solid wood door just so Nicholson wouldn't obliterate it in two swings.
