A closer look
Centuries of mystical druid history have been effectively cordoned off by cheap velvet ropes all thanks to human selfishness. Up until 1977, visitors were allowed to casually walk right up and touch the ancient monoliths of Stonehenge. Unfortunately, tourists are inherently destructive creatures and would literally bring chisels to hack off souvenir chunks of the five-thousand-year-old monument. Now, you have to stare at the mystical stones from a depressingly safe distance while a heavily underpaid security guard watches your every move.
