Biosphere 2 used giant lungs to regulate air pressure

To stop the giant glass terrarium from popping like a cheap balloon when the desert sun hit it, engineers built two massive geodesic 'lungs.' Visitors can now wander through these giant expansion chambers where heavy rubber membranes literally rose and fell to regulate air pressure. It's less 'zen nature walk' and more 'inside the belly of a wheezing architectural beast.'
