A closer look
Walking from L'Agulhas, South Africa to Magadan, Russia is considered the longest walkable route on Earth, spanning approximately 14,000 miles without ever requiring a boat to cross water. This theoretical journey would take a person about 4,500 hours of continuous walking, forcing them to traverse 16 different countries, numerous war zones, and some of the most unforgiving climates on the planet. Naturally, no human has ever actually completed this exact route, mostly because human beings generally prefer the comfort of not dying in a desert or getting mauled by local wildlife. It is the ultimate backpacking trip for that one insufferable guy you know who claims regular hiking trails are just too commercialized. Instead of just booking a direct flight and watching three movies in a row, you could embark on a multi-year death march just to prove a point to people who do not care about your endurance
