Ringo Starr wasn't allowed to play on The Beatles' first single

The producer for the Beatles did not trust Ringo Starr in the studio yet, so a session drummer was hired for 'Love Me Do,' leaving Ringo to sadly shake a tambourine in the corner. He certainly got the last laugh, though.
