Water as a symbol of emotional response
In elemental traditions, Water is often used as a metaphor for feeling, empathy, and emotional movement. A person described as lacking Water is not necessarily said to feel nothing; the image suggests that other people’s feelings may be hard to read or answer. Tears, for example, can register as a visible reaction without conveying what comfort or response is needed.
What the “brick wall” means
The wall is a picture of distance between noticing emotion and responding to it. Someone may rely more on analysis, practical action, or restraint than on emotional cues. In this symbolic framework, that can make a conversation feel difficult: one person is seeking recognition or comfort, while the other is unsure how to interpret the signal.
This is a traditional interpretive language, not a clinical diagnosis or proof that someone lacks compassion. Its useful question is concrete: when another person is upset, what helps you understand what they need—and what makes it harder to respond?
