Attaching a lie detector to a plant to prove it has feelings

Interrogating a houseplant is a totally normal way to spend an afternoon if you have a spare polygraph machine. In the 1960s, a researcher attached electrodes to a dracaena and claimed the wildly fluctuating electrical resistance proved the plant was experiencing sheer terror. It turns out plants are just really bad at passing stress tests when you burn their leaves.
