In the late 19th century, dietary 'experts' routinely prescribed ice cream to patients suffering from stomach pain or anxiety. Because it was dairy-based and easy to swallow, Victorian-era logic dictated that eating a massive bowl of frozen sugar fat was essentially the same thing as taking vitamins. Unfortunately, modern doctors deeply disagree.
