Film director James Cameron supposedly pitched the highly anticipated sequel to his sci-fi horror hit Alien to terrified studio executives by simply writing the word Alien on a whiteboard and adding a dollar sign to the end. This hilariously arrogant boardroom maneuver completely bypassed the need for a script, character arcs, or thematic explanations, relying entirely on the sheer financial implication of pluralizing a terrifying space monster. The executives were apparently so mesmerized by this caveman-level pitch of infinite money that they instantly greenlit Aliens, which actually went on to become one of the greatest sequels ever made. It proves that despite all the pretentious talk about the purity of cinematic art, the absolute fastest way to get a multi-million dollar movie funded is to promise incredibly rich people that you will make them slightly richer using basic punctuation
