In what is perhaps the most hilariously unnecessary piece of legislation ever penned, it is formally illegal to pilot a rotary aircraft through a subterranean tube. There isn’t a massive epidemic of pilots trying to merge with rush hour traffic, but the law exists mostly as a catch-all to prevent unhinged stunt pilots or aggressively misguided billionaires from trying to take a shortcut under the Hudson River.
