Why apples float instead of sinking

HERE’S THE INTERESTING PART

Bobbing for apples is only physically possible because you are essentially paying for fruit-flavored bubble wrap. Beneath the skin, an apple's cellular structure is highly porous, making it roughly 25% pure air by volume. This makes them significantly less dense than water, causing them to float perfectly while you ruin your makeup trying to bite them out of a bucket.
